Digition Suite is Activa Multimèdia’s digital production and digital archiving system, specially designed for TV companies, press agencies, audiovisual archives, etc.
The system is based on integrating standard, open software and hardware.

CONTENT CAPTURE
Digition Suite allows the capture of contents from various sources: video tapes, links, studio recordings, among others.
Content capture is performed simultaneously in two resolutions:

Low resolution copy (MPEG-1 format at 1.2 Mb/s), which allows partial or complete viewing from any part of the computing network.

Capture in broadcast quality resolution (DVCPro, MPEG-2, DV, DVCam), ensuring top quality for professional edition and dissemination of content.
The system also catalogues the content in real time, using a keyframe in all scene changes. This facilitates rapid location and selection of content.
Access to input video can be in real time, thus allowing the user to view, edit, and record all at the same time.
VIDEO EDITING
System users have a comprehensive range of tools at their disposal for editing contents. Digition Suite includes a news editor (Natural News) and a special effects editor (Adobe Premiere), allowing the following functions to performed from any work station:
- Narration and voice overlay
- Audio mixing
- Inclusion of images and graphics
The tool ensures work can be done in a jiffy. The tool is simple, highly intuitive, and turns out first rate work in record time.
ASSET MANAGEMENT
Digition Suite includes tools for cataloguing, indexing, searching, copying, deleting, and archiving assets. Users, no matter what their level of expertise, can search and view contents simultaneously or individually.
Searching, locating and selection of contents can also be performed through the storyboard, which is generated during the capture process and is based on automatic detection of scene changes.
Digition Suite also offers tools for creating and editing program schedules, allowing users to assign contents and synchronize them in real time with the broadcasting system.
ARCHIVING
Video archiving in broadcast quality is carried out through an automated data library.
The system keeps an on-line copy of low resolution video files, allowing users to view and select clips during archive searches for content.
High-resolution materials are automatically recovered at the user’s request. In addition, Digition Suite allows partial recovery of content. A robot extracts only selected sequences, thus optimizing archive performance and efficiency.
PLAY-OUT
Digition Suite also has various optional devices for outputting video content either in the form of TV programs or for recording to tape. These devices operate completely automatically, and are readily integrated with other equipment and systems found in the market: captioning systems, mixers, automated continuity systems, VTRs, etc.
